We know that not all of you are close to Holliston (many of you are quite far away), but if you are ever in our area we welcome you to come to the office and meet everyone. Our office sits in the center of charming “downtown” Holliston which is a quiet New England town almost an hour west of Boston. We are located above the town landmark, Fiske’s General Store overlooking the local bustle of the Holliston Superette directly across the street. At Main Effort we take great pride in being a fiduciary to our clients. Simply put, as a fiduciary we are required to act and advise in our clients’ best interests at all time without question. We adhere to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct in every aspect of our practice as that is the pinnacle of fiduciary financial and investment advising. We recognize the great responsibility which our clients put on us and we are both humbled and honored by that trust.

Our job is to advise you on what we would do if we were in your position and tell you everything that we know in order to help you make the best decision possible. Our job is to continuously improve ourselves and our system in order to be in a position to provide you the best advice and service we possibly can. Our job is to also to be completely candid and transparent with any and all information concerning you and your plan to include risks, limitations and uncertainties that could influence your decision. Lastly, our job is to try to eliminate any conflict of interest that we may have in working with you or making a recommendation, however sometimes, although very rarely, conflicts of interest cannot be avoided. If we find ourselves in any potential conflict of interest we will discuss and bring to your attention before moving forward with any plans or recommendations.
Main Effort Financial is a fee-based Registered Investment Advisor meaning that we charge an annual fee based on the amount of assets we have under management. This fee covers active account management as well as ongoing comprehensive financial planning. Annual fees are paid quarterly in advance and are deducted directly from accounts under management. Billed assets under management are based on the market close of the last day of the quarter. New accounts will be billed on opening balance and be prorated for amount of time under management for the quarter. Asset totals are aggregated for families in order to determine fee breakpoints: The following are the current fees:

Example: A client has a total of $450,000 of assets under management. Annual planning and management fee is $450,000 x 0.0095 = $4,275 per year. First quarterly payment = $1,069 deducted directly from the account. Quarterly payments based on market close on (or about) March 31, June 30, September 30 and Dec 31.
If a client does not have assets under management at Main Effort, their fee is determined based on total assets under advisement to including both liquid and non-liquid. A flat rate is determined based on the amount of time and level of service. Minimum annual retention rate is $6,000 per year ($500/month).
Main Effort Financial also is licensed to sell certain financial products which provide commission payment. If we feel that any of these products would suit a client under the fiduciary standard, we will disclose any compensation from the product prior to our presentation or recommendation.
